Acceptable Use of Products & Services

1. Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the permitted and prohibited uses of all Onam Cloud products, services, and infrastructure ("Services"). By accessing or using any Onam Cloud Service, you agree to comply with this policy.
This AUP is incorporated by reference into all Onam Cloud service agreements and terms of service. Onam Cloud reserves the right to modify this policy at any time with reasonable notice.
2. Permitted Use
You may use Onam Cloud Services for any lawful purpose that complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and this AUP. Permitted uses include but are not limited to:
- Hosting websites, web applications, and APIs
- Running enterprise workloads including databases, analytics, and business applications
- Developing, testing, and deploying software
- Machine learning training and inference workloads
- Data storage, backup, and disaster recovery
- IoT data processing and edge computing workloads
3. Prohibited Activities
You may not use Onam Cloud Services to:
3.1 Illegal Activities
- Engage in any activity that violates applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations
- Store, transmit, or distribute material that infringes intellectual property rights
- Facilitate money laundering, terrorist financing, or sanctions evasion
- Distribute illegal content including child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
3.2 Security Violations
- Attempt unauthorized access to any system, network, or account
- Distribute malware, viruses, ransomware, or other malicious code
- Conduct port scanning, network probing, or vulnerability scanning of third party systems without authorization
- Launch denial of service (DoS/DDoS) attacks against any target
- Engage in phishing, social engineering, or credential harvesting
3.3 Network & Infrastructure Abuse
- Send unsolicited bulk email (spam) or facilitate spam distribution
- Operate open mail relays, open proxies, or TOR exit nodes without prior written approval
- Generate excessive network traffic that degrades service for other customers
- Mine cryptocurrency without prior written authorization from Onam Cloud
3.4 Harmful Content
- Host or distribute content promoting violence, terrorism, or hatred
- Distribute defamatory, harassing, or threatening material
- Host deceptive websites designed to impersonate legitimate services
4. Resource Usage
You agree to use Onam Cloud resources in a manner consistent with your service tier and subscription. Excessive resource consumption that impacts other customers or the platform's stability may result in throttling, suspension, or termination of service.
Onam Cloud may establish fair use limits for shared resources. These limits will be communicated in service documentation and may be updated periodically.
5. Security Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Securing access credentials for your account and services
- Applying security patches to your deployed applications and operating systems
- Implementing appropriate access controls for your data and workloads
- Reporting any security incidents to Onam Cloud within 24 hours of discovery
- Maintaining backups of your data as appropriate for your use case
6. Monitoring & Enforcement
Onam Cloud monitors service usage for AUP compliance and platform stability. We do not inspect customer data content except as required by law or where necessary to investigate reported AUP violations.
Upon identifying a violation, Onam Cloud may, at its sole discretion:
- Issue a written warning with a specified remediation timeline
- Suspend the offending service or account pending investigation
- Terminate the account with notice
- Report violations to appropriate law enforcement authorities
7. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to abuse@onamcloud.com. Include relevant details such as account identifiers, IP addresses, timestamps, and a description of the violation.
